Maranatha

The Maranatha Community is a free, open and loving Christian movement which is rapidly growing throughout the United Kingdom and abroad. It is a scattered Community of Christian men and women who love the Lord and who share a common vision of His Kingdom. Drawn from all the main traditions, we are committed to the life of our local churches. Maranatha is not a breakaway movement: our aim is to become more effective Christians in the places where we live, work and worship.

Thousands of members of the Maranatha Community are bound together in a fellowship of love and prayer. Maranatha is a prayer of the early church – it means 'Come, Lord Jesus'. We are a listening community. We are deeply aware that personal desires may hinder God's work, and we therefore spend much time in silent waiting upon God, We do nothing unless we are of one heart and mind. We believe there should be less debate, and more prayer. We stand firm on the truth that Jesus Christ is the Saviour and healer of the world and that we may encounter His living presence in our lives

Here in Chiswick, Maranatha first meeting was held on the 27th of June and was attended by 23 people from different churches and faith communities in the area.
